Basic function: Exploiting a temperature gradient, perspiration is wicked away to the outside, yet wind and rain cannot penetrate. This effect makes both textile and leather clothing highly weatherproof, and also very comfortable to wear.
The membranes are manufactured from different base materials, depending on the brand, and are made either as a loose "liner", as a laminate (bonded to the outer material), or as a coating on a carrier material.
The SympaTex membrane is made of polyester, and transports water vapour molecules outwards by means of chemical reactions. Different materials are tailored to the various applications in the field of motorcycle clothing.
All climate membranes are sensitive to mechanical damage: if a membrane is pierced, clearly it can no longer provide protection. Damage can also result from the use of inappropriate washing agents. The Vanucci *VTB 16* is a proper touring motorcycle boot, no doubt about it. The SympaTex climate membrane gives your feet ample protection from the elements. The special design with zipper and hook-and-loop closure allows perfect adjustment to the calves. This special comfort is apparent as soon as you put on and adjust the boots for the first time. Thanks to the rubber touring sole, you can also easily and comfortably reach landmarks or places of interest. That's how a touring boot should be.
